2. The Rotary Club of Sydney Peacebuilding Group has selected
The Bread and Butter Project as the recipient of their annual Community Peace Award.
They will be receiving the award at their luncheon meeting next Tuesday, 24 September. The Bread and Butter Project is a social enterprise that provides employment pathways for refugees and asylum seekers in the bakery and other industries. Steve Killelea AM will be the guest speaker. Steve is an accomplished entrepreneur in high technology business development and at the forefront of philanthropic activities focused on sustainable development and peace. After successfully building two international software companies, Steve decided to dedicate most of his time and fortune to sustainable development and peace.
In 2007 Steve founded the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP). Rotary has entered a new partnership with the Institute for Economics and Peace to enhance its peace and conflict resolution efforts with data-driven methodologies and tools.
